MTD50 UV Black-White Densitometer for ndt testing blackness of film

Operating Instructions                                                                                          

I,Measuring Density Values: 

1/Press POWER button on the lower right corner of the device, the screen displays “-.--”. The instrument 

should be preheated for 5 min.

2/Press the measuring arm down without putting any film, the screen displays “E.1”. Keep holding the 

measuring arm while pressing the red Zero Setting button on the upper right corner of the device and the 

screen displays “0.00”. Releasing the measuring arm, the device will enter the density measuring mode. 

3/Put the tested film on aperture point, and press the measuring arm, the density value will be shown on 

the screen.

4/While using the standard density tablet equipped with the instrument, the zero calibration should be done 

first, that is, do not put any density film, press the measuring arm and the Zero Setting button at the same

 time, the screen displays “0.00”, then measure other points.

II,Observing Samples:

     The tested samples can be observed after the light on the lower left corner of the instrument is

     turned on and the tri-chromatic fluorescent lights inside the instrument are lit.

III,Calibration Function:

    The densitometer can be calibrated by calibration software and fit for different density curve. (For details please

 see the software instruction)

Attention                                                                                                      

1. Black-white densitometer is a precision measuring instrument. It should be keep away from dusts, 

     humidity, alkaline and acid objects, and magnetic fields. 

2. The light source easy to dust when using for a period time, this can lead to inaccurate measured 

    value, so the light source should be cleaned up lightly with cotton swab and alcohol to keep the 

    light source clean.

3. Please keep the density tablet clean. Use it only when you are not sure about the accurate of the 

   measured values. If the value is not accurate, you can use calibrated step film and densitometer 

   calibration software to calibrate the instrument. 

4. When the density values are out of the prescribed range, the measurement data are still has reference     value.
